The tentative conference agenda is available here. Full conference registration grants access to the keynote address and all paper sessions on each day of the conference, as well as breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, and three planned social events (the Mortar Mixer welcome reception, Social Night at the Museum of History, and the Awards Banquet). Single-day registrants are limited to the events scheduled for that specific day only. Access to conference activities will require the appropriate conference badge, which will indicate whether the participant has a full registration or a specific colour to denote single-day registration.
All attendees of conference events, including meals and coffee breaks, must be registered. A minimum of one author from each accepted paper is required to have Full Conference Registration, whether as a Full Delegate or Full Student. Companions of Full Delegates wishing to attend evening events exclusively must complete their registration prior to the symposium (access to paper sessions, breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks are limited to delegates only).
Full Delegate and Full Students who stay at least 2 nights at the conference hotel will receive a reduced rate for the symposium registration equal to $300 for up to 2 registrations. It not required to stay at the conference hotel, but it is preferred and helps us reduce conference costs.
Yes, the associated fees and limitations to a companion and one-day registrations are provided in the description of those registration packages. Single registration costs reflect the actual costs incurred by the organizers; conferences are very expensive to run, and also result in additional logistical challenges.
Upon registering for the conference, please email your proof of full-time student registration to cmdc@canadamasonrycentre.com. Registrations submitted without adequate proof will be canceled, and the refund policy applicable at the time of cancellation will be enforced.
After registering for the conference at the reduced rate, please email cmdc@canadamasonrycentre.com with your hotel confirmation number. Your room reservation can be used for up to two registrations (either full delegate or full student). There are no discounts for companion registrations or single registrations. If the hotel reservation is cancelled before the conference, the registration will also be cancelled and subject to the applicable cancellation fee.
Through the generosity of the 15th CMS sponsoring organizations, full delegates and/or full students can receive a $300 discount on their registration costs when they book at least 2 nights at the conference hotel. For each room booked for 2 nights or more, up to two conference registrations (including companions) may be linked to the room. After registering, please provide your proof to cmdc@canadamasonrycentre.com with your confirmation number for the hotel.
For those not planning to stay at the conference hotel, please consult the table below for registration fees for the 15th CMS.
Full Delegate registration have the option to include a Companion registration at a cost of $750. Companion registrations entitle to registrant access to the three social evening events: The Mortar Mixer Welcome Reception, The Social Night at the Canadian Museum of History, and the Symposium Awards Banquet. Companion registrations exclude all daytime events such as keynotes, paper sessions, breakfast, lunch, and coffee breaks. A companion registration will automatically count towards the number of registrations eligible for a hotel discount.
Participation in conference events, paper sessions, coffee breaks, meals, and social activities is restricted to those registered for the CMS and wearing their conference badge. Delegates interested in attending for a single day or event may register as per the table provided. Please note that there are no discounts available for students or hotels, and registration is not specific to an individual event but grants access to all activities of the registered day, including the evening social event. Single-day registrations do not fulfill the requirements for hotel discounts or the prerequisites for registrations related to paper submissions. All single-day registrations must be completed prior to May 1, 2025. Please be aware that cancellations, refunds, or transfers of single-day registrations are not allowed.
